Navigating the Vaccinations home page

On the Vaccinations home page you will be able to access:

  • the Vaccination Checker - enter an ID number to check vaccination status
  • View All Vaccinations - view all stock you have recorded as having been vaccinated
  • Cattle on holding - a list of all the cattle on your holding and their vaccination status
  • Sheep - a list of the sheep you have vaccinated
  • Goats - a list of the goats you have vaccinated
  • Record Vaccinations - the form to record a vaccination
Recording vaccinations
  1. Click on Record Vaccinations link.

  2. Complete Vaccination details form:
    • Select the Disease – currently limited to Bluetongue
    • Enter a reference (optional), e.g. bulling heifers; breeding cows; rams; breeding ewes
    • Select the Species vaccinated – Cattle; Sheep; Goats
    • Choose the Product name – Bultavo-3; BLUEVAC-3; Syvazul BTV
    • Choose the Dose Type – Primary single dose; Primary first dose; Primary second dose; Booster
    • Some species require two primary vaccinations administered 3 weeks apart; these are indicated on the Dose type dropdown by "Primary first dose" and "Primary second dose". For species that only require a single vaccination, select "Primary single dose".
    • Select the Treatment date
    • Check the Next Dose due date (auto-populated after selecting the Species and Dose Type)
    • Enter the Batch No(s) from the vaccine bottle/packaging
    • Enter or verify the CPH animals were vaccinated on
    • If using an ID/tag file, tick the Upload ID/tag file checkbox; otherwise leave it unticked
    • Instead of manually entering/selecting animal IDs, a file containing the IDs can be uploaded. Such files can be generated by EID readers; exported from farm software packages; or created via a spreadsheet or txt file. Please note that there is no common standard for files generated by EID readers or exported from farm software, so results vary. A comma separated values (csv) file is the best format to use. List all IDs in one column, preferably without spaces in the ID.
    • Confirm that you have followed the vaccine instructions
    • Add any further comments as required
    • Click on Continue once you have completed the form

  3. Enter/select the IDs of vaccinated animals. Depending on which Dose Type is selected, you will be presented with a variation of screens in this step.
    • If using an ID/tag file:
      • Click on Choose file to select your prepared ID/tag file. A comma separated values (csv) file is the best format to use.
      • Click on Continue to upload the file.
      • The animal IDs will be presented and you will have the option to manually add more IDs or delete any shown IDs.

      • Click on Continue to submit the IDs.

    • Primary first dose OR Primary single dose: Cattle
      • Select cattle IDs using the 'Cattle select' table presented by entering 3 or 4 digits to quick filter animals, or by scanning the passport, or by using the checkboxes to select the cattle

      • After selecting all vaccinated animal IDs, click on Continue.

    • Primary first dose OR Primary single dose: Sheep/Goats
      • Using the entry form, add the full UK tag number of each vaccinated animal, ie UK50012300111.
      • If all animals have the same flock mark, after you have entered the first ID you can simply enter the last 5 digits of the subsequent IDs and the flock mark will be adopted from the previous entry.

      • You must use the official UK identification, please do not use pedigree society IDs
      • After entering all vaccinated animal IDs, click on Continue.

    • Primary second dose OR Booster dose: Cattle
      • You will be presented with the 'Cattle select followup' table showing previously vaccinated cattle. Select cattle IDs by entering 3 or 4 digits to quick filter animals, or by scanning the passport, or by using the checkboxes to select the cattle

      • After selecting all vaccinated animal IDs, click on Continue.

    • Primary second dose OR Booster dose: Sheep/Goats
      • You will be presented with a table of previously vaccinated sheep batches. Click on the + icon to view the IDs; select all IDs by ticking the top most checkbox next to Animal ID; OR select individual IDs by ticking the checkbox next to the ID itself. You can select IDs from multiple batches.

      • Selected IDs will be listed below the table.
      • After selecting all vaccinated animal IDs, click on Continue.

  4. Check over the Confirm vaccination details page then click on Submit to record the vaccination.
    • If you need to edit any information, use the Edit link to navigate back to the vaccination details form, make your corrections and continue through submission again
