Secondary tag numbering

Hello,

I have just ordered EID tags for my 2009 ewe hoggs. I have ordered an EID button and a triangle tag of a different colour. Am I right in believing that I can have my flock number and individual number on the front of the secondary tag and other information like the year of birth on the back of the tag without the flock and individual number?

From page 8 of the

From page 8 of the guidelines:

Management information on your tags
When you order your identifiers, you can ask your manufacturer to add extra information as long as:
  • the extra information is shown separately from the official identification; and
  • the official animal identification remains clear and readable at all times.

So it is possible to add any extra information you want to the tags. It is the responsibility of the tag manufacturer to ensure that any tags sold to you as 'approved' are legal.

No, I usually tag them before the end of the year but was unable to because of the snow. I was informed that I must use the new EID tags.
