reader won't download the info

I have just read the fat lambs' tags. They are going off tonight. Luckily I wrote down each one, as the allflex stick reader doesn't have a replay function..... and when I went to upload/download the data it won't work....
I have re-screwed in and connected every connection so don't think it is my fault.

Hamish... HELP!!! (or Jon)

I really need a new one so that we can carry on sending you the info. Is this possible? I will be in Dingwall next week and we are speaning lambs next wek so I need to sort it....

This is surely an example of equipment failure, which could happen on a larger scale?

Please log this with the powers that be and it will be another mark against EID
Thanks,
Kari

Readers

Can you see any differences in your two different stick readers ?
Good points/ Bad points from each from a users point of view ?
We gave you a different one to try a few weeks ago - better / worse?
Not asking you to name and shame.

USB adapter?

Hi Kari
If you are pluging it into the USB port then my first suspicion would be that there is a problem with the USB adapter rather than the reader itself. There are a few (relatively) simple methods for diagnosing/fixing these types of problems which I could explain to you over the phone if you like, although taking it to Hamish might be the easiest option.

No go!

Hello Kari
Where are the Fat ( Prime !!!!) Lambs going to?

Take the Allflex reader down to Dingwall. Give us a shout and we will have a look at it.
There's a good chance the data isn't lost - assuming it read them in the 1st place.

We will make a judgement when we see the reader !!!!!

Presumably it worked fine up till now ?

Will do our best to help and appraise!

Hamish, I am going to be in

Hamish,
I am going to be in Dingwall tomorrow, briefly?! Where do I go to get the reader to you? I am going through lambs this week and it would be very handy to have it all working. My mobile number.... do you have it? I have your house number in my phone so can phone on the way south, leaving here about 6.30
The lambs went to Elgin and they also had problems getting the data uploaded so 300 lambs were killed but not read apparently.
